today the vatican announced it was taking steps to have emperor charles I , the last hapsburg emperor beatified. they sited him a s an example of devout cathlolism and piety. that would be interesting, an emperor a Saint. St. charles I. does anyone know if any other hapsburgs have been made saints? or at least beatified? i wonder if the fact that pope john paul's father was a career hapsburg empire army officer and ww1 vetern had anything to do with this decision?
