Unfortunately, I can't buy this book for obvious reasons. VISA and MASTERCARD payment cards do not work in our country.

Generalmajor Ing. Johann Franz Schwab (römisch-katholisch)
* 25.09.1887 in Wien-Neubau
† 14.07.1965 in Wien-Margareten

Eltern: k.k. Lieutenant Johann Schwab & Johanna, geb. Frank

Katzer (1892–1926)
Are we positive that Schwab was promoted Gen. Maj.?

I have his Oberst RDA as 10.11.1933 (Austrian) and German: 01.03.1938 (34).

Dear Jürgen,

yes, we are sure. Schwab was promoted to Generalmajor "im Wege der Rehabilitierung" with 11.12.1946, BMF Zl. 400.960-II/1946 and backdated to 01.05.1945.

Dienstklasse erreicht.“

Here some details from his pre-war career:

Regards

Christian

I am doing some research and would like to ask if anybody heard about a fellow called Stadnik, who lived before the war in Galizia, Bircza, Nowa Wies. He enlisted in Waffen SS Galizien division and was later brought by the British to Britain. I would like to find more information about him. Anybody knows any Stadniks in UK?

Thank you

I can help with following informations:

Egon (Johann) Orosel, born 2nd Jul 1879 in Marburg
son of Dr. Johann Nepomuk Orosel, lawyer, and Therese (born Walcher)
married to Janina (Hedwig) of Faÿtt on 6th Jul 1909 in Krakau.
His wife died on 31st May 1952 in Vienna.
Didn't find out about his death yet.

Best regards

Re Orosel – the name Faytt is equivocal, but still I can't find anything. Maybe the clerk transcribed it wrongly.
I would not think so. Page 2 of Grundbuchblatt was filled by the officer himself and not by a clerk.
