Hi Ian,

I can add a little:

Lieutenant: 1 May 1882
Major: 1 May 1907
Regarding his promotion to Hauptmann, the 1893 Schematismus still shows him as Oberleutnant, whilst the 1894 Schematismus shows him as Hauptmann I Klasse from 1 May 1894, so it looks as if he skipped the II Klasse promotion.

Kind regards,

VJK

Many thanks for the information. I didn't think/realise it was possible to skip a rank, even one as minor as Hauptmann II klasse. Perhaps xn excellerated promotion for some reason?
