Thank you, Ian. I will post (most likely tomorrow) a list of non-combat naval officers for whom I will need some missing dates.

Jake, as regards Generalintendant Preininger, there were two such officers
Franz Preininger (Wien, 02.11.1860 – 11.10.1926, Wien)
Maximilian Preininger (Prag, 19.09.1820 – 20.07.1890, Leiten bei Waidhofen an der Ybbs)

Marinegeneralkommissär Johann Linhart (Kanitz/Mähren, 02.12.1855 - 18.11.1933, Brno)

Either the place or the date of death (or maybe both?) is incorrect. There is no such entry for Linhart in the Standesamt in Brno for 1944.

The date/place of death for FML LINHART was found in Dr. Balla Tibor's book " A Nagy Háború Osztrák-Magyar Tábornokai – Altábornnagyoki" HM Hatroténeti Intézet és Múzeum Budapest 2019

I am not saying it is right or wrong just where I located the information.

Good find. Dr. Balla Tibor has done some serious research, so I think that the date should be correct, but the place is certainly not. There is a possibility that Linhart returned to his hometown near Brno and died there, but I can't confirm this suspicion.

Thank you, Jake, for your ongoing help. Unless I have missed something, the Generalintendant Reich who is posted in the Bundesheer thread is the following:
Generalintendant Ewald Karl Wilhelm Reich (römisch-katholisch)
* 22.11.1858 in Neulengbach/Niederösterreich
† 11.10.1935 in Graz-Jakomini (Marasmus)

whereas the one that I am looking for is named Anton, and was promoted to Generalintendant in 1897, which would put his birth year around 1837-1842 (based on the typical age for promotion to general rank).

Yes, you're right. So much for my photographic memory of Generals. Let's pretend I never missed that, and I'll buy out your silence with

I am looking for a comprehensive rank chart showing the various Rangklasse, which includes the non-combat (Beamten) naval officers. I am specifically looking for confirmation that Beamten officers with the ranks of Oberster Land- und Wasserbauingenieur, Oberster Marine-Arzt, Oberster-Marineartillerie-Ingenieur, Oberster Maschinenbauingenieur, Oberster Maschinenbau und Betriebsingenieur, Oberster Schiffbauingenieur fall in the Rangklasse equivalent to Konteradmiral.

Thank you,

I believe there may be such a chart contained within the book 'Das Flottinrock und kaiseradler der k.u.k. Kriegsmarine'. The book is a large, formatted book so the chart will require some manipulation before I post it. I will dig the book out today.

Andris,

After a quick look at the chart, I can confirm that any rank prefixed by 'Obersten' was equivalent to a Linienschifsskapitän/Oberst.
