It seems to be time for a clue: our Leutnant was initiator of a monument for Jewish fallen WW1-soldiers in Graz.

I think it´s better to solve the enigma:

Dr. Ernst Wechlser, Born 1889, 1918 Oberleutnant im technisch-administrativen Militärkomiteé.

Everyone shall feel free to post a new question.

Hi Christian,

The most frustrating thing is that I found the site you refer to, but despite reading through it several times I still completely Wechsler's name!

I will take up your challenge. This Feldmarschalleutnant (later Tit.-Feldzeugmeister) was the head of construction of the Ministry of War, and died at the ripe old age of 95.

Kind regards,

VJK

Time for a clue, I guess.

Schmidt-Brentano has his DoB as 1843, but all other sources I have seen give 1844.

Kind regards,

VJK
