You did it - congratulations!
Over to you...
I would be interested if anyone could confirm that he was Konteradmiral z.V. in the Kriegsmarine for a short time in 1940.

Re: The official AHF Austria-Hungary quiz thread
Thanks and sorry no help on his possible WWII duties.
Let‘s see how known this next person is. He’s a good “Cary Grant lookalike”. Picture has been cropped and therefor also rank and other insignia. Waleed

Time for two clues. He shared the same initials in his name as a much more famous austrian (who preferred a german uniform). Both died in 1945.

Re: The official AHF Austria-Hungary quiz thread
Christian and others, sorry for the delay regarding clues.
I‘ll continue with his ranks. On the picture above I believe he was a Hauptmann. He rose to become an Oberst in both wars. He died just short of becoming a Generalmajor.
And some of his WWI fighting. He mainly fought on the Italian front. Some fighting was also done on the western front in his role as a liaison officer, before returning to the Italian front. Some more..? Ok!
Despite not being an infantryman he volunteered to fight as one in a battle. This was in between the fighting performed by his own unit.
