Re: The official AHF Austria-Hungary quiz thread
Dear Forum,
What is the name in German of the Austrian parade step ? An old Austrian close drill very characteristic, used even today. Not the goose step. It is done flexing the ankle and hitting the ground with the heel with energy. What is its origin ? I am asking because someone imported it to the Argentine Army , I am not sure when , perhaps the first Military College director, an Austrian-Hungarian Colonel named Czetz. I am starting to dig on the subject. The issue is that it takes many hours of close order drill to do it right and elegantly, especially for new recruits. Hours that could be used in other subjects of a training program. It is not so important with professional soldiers but it is with conscript soldiers and short training time.
Cheers all!
