Yah, and the ever receding hairline, the extinction of that spark of happiness in his eyes, all in these ten years ....

Chris,

Really nice picture! Thanks!

Now the only missing link is Ferdinand I. Have any picture of him in uniform, if there's any?

Best Regards!

Chris & Glenn,

All the pictures Chris just posted, except the one with Wilhelm, show Rudolf in an Oberstinhaber's uniform. Do you know to which regiment he was the Inhaber? My guess from the uniform is that it was an Ulan regiment.

Best Regards!

Artillery

Post by Glenn2438 » 29 Mar 2004 08:57

Hi Orok,

the pictures above show him as the Inhaber of k.u.k. Feldartillerie-Regiment Nr. 2 (1865-1885). This regiment was disbanded in 1885 and he then became Inhaber of the I. Corps-Artillerie-Regiment until his death. He was also the Regimental-Proprietor of Infantry Regiment Nr. 19 from 1858.

Regards
Glenn

Glenn,

Thank you very much. Do you happen to have any picture of him as Inhaber of Infantry Regiment Nr. 19? He must have posed for one before his death, at least I hope he did!

Best Regards!

Rudolf

Post by Glenn2438 » 29 Mar 2004 13:39

Hi Orok,

a painting of Rudolf as the Inhaber of IR. 19. Chris's photo abaove shows him as the Inhaber of IR. 19 as well. The ones with the brown uniform or the plume in the cap are the artillery photos.

Regards
Glenn
