Questions on Army Ranks

#1

Post by Orok » 22 Apr 2004, 21:55

Hi all,

I have encountered in my reading several forms of these Austro-Hungrian Army ranks:

Kadett-Offiziers-Stellvertreter = Kadett-Offiziersstellvertreter = Kadettoffiziersstellvertreter

Feldmarschalleutnant = Feldmarschall-Leutnant

I would like to know which form was official? Or all of them were officially used? Or perhaps there is an evolution of the forms?

Thank you and Best Regards!

Hi Orok,

I have encountered all these forms and more! One will see different versions even in the published army lists and orders. In earlier lists, certainly before the turn of the century, one will also find the term Cadet as opposed to Kadett and Lieutenant instead of Leutnant.

Regards
Glenn
