Was Rittmeister Barton a Regimental Commander in WWI?

Hi all,

I just found out on Michael Miller's Axis Biographical Research website that the MMThO winner and later German Generalmajor Gottfried Barton is listed as "Commander of the 13th Ulanen-Regiment" from 9 Apr 1917 until 1 Sep 1917. If this information is accurate, I find this to be a little bit extraordinary, since Barton was only a Rittmeister at that time, and he would not be promoted to the rank of Oberst until December 1936 and would not hold another regimental command until June 1936.

I would appreciate if some one can verify Barton's regimental command during the Great War!

Best Regards!
