Hello!
I would like to know how the Alpenjäger-Regiment Nr. 9 and the Regiment's Tel-Zügen were organized in the years 1930 to 1937 and if this unit were stationed in Graz, Steiermark. I had a Great Uncle on my father's side that served in this unit in the thirties, hence my interest.
I also have a series of photographs from this unit that depicts physical training and also bayonet techniques. I will post them in the near future. (Just need to buy new a scanner first!)
Regards,
Krollspell

Alpenjägerregiment Nr. 9
Hello Krollspell,
Steirisches Alpenjägerregiment Feldmarschall Conrad von Hötzendorf Nr. 10 ws indeed stationed in Graz during this period. The Regimental Headquarters was at Laudongasse 2/14. The I. and II. Battalions were also in Graz with th 5. Company being in Gösting bei Graz certainly in 1936. The III. Battalion was based at Straß in Steiermark.
The Regimental Telephone Platoon would have been co-located with the Regimental Headquarters in Graz.
Regards
Glenn

My Great Uncle's Regiment was the Nr. 9. You detail the 10th AJR. Are these two different regiments or are they in any way connected, organization-wise or in any other way?Steirisches Alpenjägerregiment Feldmarschall Conrad von Hötzendorf Nr. 10 ws indeed stationed in Graz during this period.
With best regards,

Alpenjägerregiment Nr. 9
Hello Krollspell,
just a typo on my part, I meant Steirisches Alpenjägerregiment Feldmarschall Daun Nr. 9. However AJR 10 was also stationed in Graz with regimental headquarters at Schulgasse 12. Its two battalions were also stationed in Graz.
Regards
Glenn
