Here is a pic of the weapon and ammunition. It was used by both us and British forces. Note that it was called th "Trench Mortar Mark III in British service.

My best guess would be French 240 MM Mortier LT Mle 1916

I should have added "on its transport wagon".

Here is a drawing of the mortar emplaced for firing with the transport wagon removed.
