Fine photos! The shots of the end of the muzzle appear to show the effects of firing, it looks like the barrel liner has stretched and will soon need to be cut off flush with the muzzle face again.

Hello Wim!
Very nice pictures! But they don´t show a Max. A Max was either a 380mm canon (built 1916), or the railway-canon 380mm (only one built in 1917).
Here to your photos, we are in the Coast-defense West at the "Batterie "Pommern".
This battery (Kapitänleutnant d.R. Breutz-Rifstahl) was placed in the park of Moere and had the epithet "Leugenboom". The construction began in oct., 15th, 1916 and it was ready to fire in may, 15th. 1917. Belgian sources say, it was not ready inmay, 25th, but that is wrong. Fact is, the allies shot the battery from the Eggewaerts-Capelle for about two days, but they missed it...
First the battery shot in june, 27th on Dunquerque (44km far away - a new german record!) together with the battery "Deutschland". They hit the headquarter of the british XV. corps. 11 men died, 13 were wounded.
The battery only had this single gun. It was a 38cm Krupp canon. It was built for ships of the "Bayern-Klasse". The steel-armour was 5cm. The barrel weighed 77.630 kg! Beside the battery was the ammo-bunker.
Together with the battery "Deutschland" they were the strongest battery in this coast-area
