Hello,
Does anyone know what were the units which were part of the garrison of the Prussian main city?
Under the overall authority of Generalleutnant Günther von Pappritz, "Festung" Königsberg seems to have been protected by the 1. Landwehr-Infanterie Brigade (Generalleutnant Georg Brodrück; Landwehr-Infanterie Regimenter Nr.1 and Nr.3) and the 2. gemischte Landwehr-Brigade (Generalmajor Arthur Freiherr von Lupin; Landwehr-Infanterie Regimenter Nr.4 and Nr.33, 2. and 3. Landwehr-Eskadrone des I. Armeekorps, Landwehr-Feldartillerie Abteilung des I. Armeekorps), reinforced with the Reserve-Dragoner Regiment Nr.1.
9. Landwehr-Infanterie Brigade (Generalmajor Hermann Clausius; Landwehr-Infanterie Regimenter Nr.24 and Nr.48) seems to have been raised in Königsberg too.
1) is this list correct?
2) were there any other units to defend this Prussian crown jewel?
3) are the names and especially the ranks of their commanders correct?
Thanks for any any help provided!
Cheers,
CNE503

Hi,
the German OH gives a slightly different OB for the Königsberg garrison. You can see it the text online:
http://digi.landesbibliothek.at/viewer/ ... /LOG_0003/
Refer to page 361 and following.
The same is true for the western front:
http://digi.landesbibliothek.at/viewer/ ... /LOG_0003/
Fortress garrisons start at page 685.
But these are probably still incomplete because all non-mobile forces are missing from these lists
regards
Matt.

This list of troops in Königsberg dates from 1st of January 1915. Might be of interest none the less:
