hey all,
at last i have worked out where my great grandfather was in the first world war.
he was in the 21st (6th City) Battalion, Manchester.
i have looked up a lot about this but the info online is not very detailed.
I know I am not going to get day by day details but i would like a really detailed text that i can read on the computer about all there battles, I know they were in a lot and I have a rough idea where they were for some of it.
any help on this would be fantastic.

The National Archives and Ancestry UK have War Diaries which show the daily activity of the Battalion

thanks a lot.
These are mainly dealing with the occupation of Germany after the war I believe.
I wonder if they wrote an official history? A lot of Italians and divisions did and i know they were part of the 7th div.
