Good morning all,

Above article has some good pictures (IMO) and a narrative with some obscure - and interesting - operations Leith-Ross participated in. I allude to him assigned / seconded to British operations unit Dunsterforce / Dunsterville in Jan 1918 to unify "the various anti-Bolshevik...groups into an effective force".

Admittedly, had to look up:

LAIRD: Scottish; form of lord; a land-owner-especially a wealthy one

GAZETTED: to publish, announce (Br Eng)

BORSTALS: My lexicon does not list and don't want to spend time on web.

.....

A question to military historians; Does "seconded" equate to temporary duty (TDY is American term) or is there more to the British/Dominion forces reassignment ? Thanks in advance.
