Arasaki rifles purchased by Great Britain in 1914

Trying to track down a Japanese sale of Arasaki riles, perhaps as many as 150,000 made in 1914 to France. They would have left Japan on a French ship. That shipload however was either purchased or just transferred to Great Britain while the ship was still at sea and the ship was diverted to England. By late November Winston Churchill is arranging for 50,000 rifles to be distributed to Royal Marines and Naval personnel. Any details? what ship? dates? Many thanks in advance--I posted similar request on Japan at War board-no luck.
