Italian Uniform ID - WW1

Post by Volyn » 15 Nov 2019 21:40

This is a photo of three Italian soldiers during WW1, the soldier standing to the right is from Concorezzo (Monza), but I am not sure if the other two are from the same location.

Is it possible to identify the following from their uniforms:

1. Uniform Model?
2. Ranks?
3. Possible Unit?
4. Do the collar tabs identify a possible military occupation?
5. The soldier on the left is wearing ribbons, can they be identified?
6. All 3 soldiers are holding cigarettes, was there a preferred brand?

3 soldiers ( Private ) of an Infantry Regiment according the patch ( mostrine ) on collar
Without any colours it's difficult determine which Regiment was ( Maybe one unit of Lombardy )

Thank you!

I found this link for infantry brigades, it reveals their different recruiting districts. There are two towns near Concorezzo that were recruitment centers for the Brigata Lombardia, Lecco (53 km) and Piacenza (77 km). Can anyone confirm if this could be how these soldiers were recruited to their brigade?

Another link for a chart representing the Infantry collar tabs, it appears that the Brigata Lombardia is a match to the photo.
