What would be the full name for Jäger-Bataillons das I./J.R.32 ?
What would be the full name for Jäger-Bataillons das I./J.R.32 ?
This unit was attached to the German 5th Cavalry Division, 11th Cavalry Brigade for much of 1914-1915. But I'm having a hard time translating this reference to a regiment or battalion that I can look up.

As I read it, I/IR32 served as a substitute for a Jager battalion that was supposed to be formed for or transferred to the Division.

So the Thuringish 32 Infantry regiment? Thank-you -- so my initial suspicion was correct. Thanks for clarifying.

A question for you -- Is there an index of all of the works available on that site (DFG-Viewer.de)? That's the 2nd or 3rd time that you or someone else pointed me to this site. So is it possible to search the works available through the sites, or do you have to search the individual library sites?

ULB Halle

SUB Göttingen
and then access the work through the DFG-viewer.de site?

I check the GenWiki page for the regiment I'm interested in. Usually there's a link to a regimental history if it's been digitized.
