Are there any sites with online british ww1 unit histories where it is possible to read them or download online?

What is your interest?

The Long Long Trail is a good starting point https://www.longlongtrail.co.uk/ This has high level histories of each division as well as information about each unit.

Each unit and formation kept a war diary. These are held in digital form in The National Archives https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ There is a search guide how to find Unit Diaries. The good news is that during the Covid crisis you can download up to fifty digital documents a month free of charge.

There is also a good forum here with a helpful community https://www.greatwarforum.org/act=idx

If it is artillery, you can also ask me. ;)
