Hello,
I am trying to track down my 3x grandfather, Peter Vukovic.
He was born in Stajnica nr. 23 (Brinje in Croatia) in 1883, and died in 1918 by food poisoning in Slavonia while on duty.
I never managed to find any details about him. I am familiar with the existence of shematismus but was not successful with getting close to something similar to the data I've got from my family.
What are some second or third options in tracking an individual in the specific regiment?
Thank you!

Hello,
Some military church books for IR 79 are online. You can see them here after a free registration at the FamilySearch website.
I have looked at the name indexes, and I could find only one Peter Vukovic (here). He doesn't exactly fit, born 1890 in Selište Drežničko, died 11.06.1915 at the Krankenbeobachtungsstation in Munkács, Hungary. Rank was Landsturm-Infanterist, cause of death was gas gangrene.
Regards
