RAF FE-2B Aircraft Night Bombing Methods: Western Front 1917 & 1918

Post by Richard Stone » 14 Oct 2023 09:47

The attached short article discusses some of the methods and equipment the author's RAF FE-2B Squadron used to conduct night tactical bombing attacks during the later stages of the war on the Western Front. The author, who served in the squadron as a pilot and during WW2 as a RAF Group Captain, includes comparisons to the WW2 RAF heavy bombers.

The original article was published as a general press release in the British Information Services publication ‘Britain’ in August 1944.

This copy of it is a condensed version and was printed in the December 1944 edition of the USA professional military reference magazine ‘Military Review’.
