Festungsartillerieregiment 4 / FsAR 4

Post by [email protected] » 16 Nov 2023 18:05

I recently found my grandfather's war diary in which he describes his experiences in the "Fortress Artillery Regiment No. 4" at the Isonzo between 1915 and 1917. Unfortunately, all entries from January 1918 onwards are missing and I would therefore like to reconstruct where the FsAR 4 was in 1918 until the armistice. Grandfather's last known stay was in Grado in December 1917 and then he only reports back again on the occasion of his demobilization in Vienna in December 1918. Does anyone have any records of the regimental history of the FsAR 4?
Best regards

It's not much but here's something about the regiment from a book entitled "300 Jahre alpenländisches Soldatentum":

There's also a book entitled "Festung Pola - Die Verteidigungsanlagen des k.(u.)k. Hauptkriegshafens 1823-1918" that may have some information about the regiment.
