Re: The official AHF WW1 quiz thread
As a guess is it Alexander Kazakov who I think was the first to survive the tactic of aerial ramming?

Re: The official AHF WW1 quiz thread
Thanks AVV, I didnt think to look on Wiki to check, it was just that the discussion of ramming had come up in a chat with a friend who is far more knowledgeable on the aviation side than myself and the name had stuck in my mind.
For the next question I would ask 'who did Jellicoe nominate to succeed him as CinC Grand Fleet when he was transferred to the Admiralty?'
As a side question, I was going to ask if anyone could name the aeroplane that the designer told people was going to be the key element in a daring plot to kidnap Kaiser Wilhelm II? Sadly I cannot find out if this is actually true or not which makes it a little dubious as a question, but would love to know the answer as to how true it really was! Anyone know the plane?

The plane was the Christmas Bullet:

Re: The official AHF WW1 quiz thread
Hi Graham,
That would be correct. Its an interesting story, not least in that people thought the thing would fly, but I have struggled to ever see much on the supposed plan to kidnap the Kaiser! Your turn to set a question if you would like.
