Below, Spanish submachine gun type Coruña, nicknamed 'Naranjero', official name M41/44, based in the German Erma EMP.
In the middle, a German MP 28 II, possibly the Spanish variant.

Were these the weapons produced at the Guernica small arms factory?

Re: Sub machine guns in SCW
No, M41/44 was manufactured under license in Spain by Arsenal de La Coruña, after the SCW.
MP 28/II Naranjero was manufactured in Levante, area famous for its oranges ( Naranjas ). With the need for weapons that
existed on the Republican side, the Mp-28/II began to be manufactured without patents or permission in the factories of the Levant.
The difference with the original German model was minimal, and they only differed in the handle to load the weapon, being in the
republican model cylindrical in shape.
Above, a very rare and underproduced submachine gun made in Spain ?, Tellez M1937 9 mm.
Some authors argue that the possibility that the Tellez M1937 was a South American product cannot be ruled out.
Its condition as a prototype is indicated by the absence of the punches from the Test Bench.

Re: Sub machine guns in SCW
The Tellez M1937 submachine gun is extremely mysterious. only one copy was found in Spain. Those who have analyzed its structure disagree about its origin, as "Tellez" is not in the directory of arms manufacturers in Spain. The submachine gun looks very similar to the German pm ERMA (rather VMP 30), although the barrel has a smaller diameter (certainly a different barrel nut than in the VMP). As Barceló Rubí claims, it cannot be ruled out that the Tellez M1937 was a South American product. The weapon only has the mark next to the permanent sight "Tellez e hijo. Inch. 9 m / m. 1937 ". https://www.gehm.es/.../subfusiles-de-la-guerra-civil.../von thoma wrote: ↑17 Jun 2022 01:24No, M41/44 was manufactured under license in Spain by Arsenal de La Coruña, after the SCW.

Manuel C. Téllez Acosta (February 16, 1885 - May 25, 1937) was a Mexican politician and diplomat who served as Minister of the Interior (1931-1932), Minister of Foreign Affairs (1932-1934), Mexican ambassador to the United States (1925-1931) ), and a plenipotentiary diplomatic envoy to Italy and Hungary (1934-1935) had a daughter and three sons, Jose, Manuel and Luis Carlos, died at the age of 52. perhaps Tellez e hijo is not an arms manufacturer but a selling company, as was the case of Theodor Bergmann & Cie GmbH Berlin, Emil Bergman Junior and Dietrich Stahlem from 1932.

Re: Sub machine guns in SCW
Andrew, Yokyakarta produced a line of smgs in the late 40s. This was a weapons factory set up by Indonesian staff of the Bandung Arsenal that had joined the TNI side. The weapons are hybrid developments of the Schmeisser MP 28 (in service with the KNIL troops in the Dutch East Indies), the Sten (brought by British Indian troops after WW2 and used by the Dutch) and the Spanish Star. The Dutch negotiated a huge order for Stars in 1941/42. The Bandung Arsenal must have tested this weapon around 1941 and some pieces must have been delivered before the Japanese arrived. Hence the Spanish influence in an Indonesian smg!
