If the interviews were conducted in the 60s they were conducted more than twenty years after the "fact". I do believe that interviews with surviving veterans are a legitimate source, but I have my doubts about their trustworthiness depending on circumstances. I certainly believe that an interview with a surviving veteran more than twenty years after the fact is to be taken at least with a cautious approach. The fact that you seem to believe that such interviews are to be considered 100% accurate data without further questioning is something that you'll honestly have to get over. Certainly if you are just going to repeat the same information it's better if you are done with it.

The truth is that Germany and the Soviet Union used the Spanish Civil War to clear obsolete weaponry from the supply depots but they also supplied quantities of their latest weaponry, the Russians diverting SB bomber deliveries from the VVS. It is also true that the Nationalists were able to expand and arm their forces through captured material, aided by an excellent weapons recovery organisation. It is also worth noting that from the beginning of the 20th Century there were only minor incremental improvements in traditional weaponry such as artillery, automatic weapons and rifles, the biggest changes being the development of improved 'automatic rifles' (light machineguns) and he Brandt-style mortar.

The US magazine "Small Arms Review" showed this gun at a Spanish army artillery museum in Segovia

It was with a Lewis, Chauchat and 08/15

It was Captioned on its display as a "Trapote Modelo 1913" in 7mm Mauser
http://www.smallarmsreview.com/display. ... ticles=270

but have found another source which says it is a Fusil ametrallador Trapote Modelo 1933 fábrica de Armas de Oviedo

Gentlemen
The Museo Militar in Minorca had a Hotchkiss M1938 light machinegun and a Tallin 1923 sub machinegun in a surprisingly comprehensive collection and there were references to Vicker 105mm anti-aircraft guns. There is also a comprehensive publication of Spanish Civil War weaponry Las Armas de la Guerra Espanola written by Garcia Manrique( et al) published by Las Esera de los Libros, Madrid 2006.

1 is an Astra 400 (or one of its copies).
2 may be a Campo-Giro.

2 may be a Campo-Giro.
According the finger position, I think both are shooting with the same ASTRA pistol model, but I can be wrong
