Defecting battalion commander in International Brigades

In further research on the Battle of Jarama, I came across a reference to a battalion commander of the Franco-Spanish Battalion (Andre Marty???) of the 12th International Brigade defecting on February 18 and singing like the proverbial canary. His name appears to have been Roland Lacet. Can anyone confirm this and provide any more information?
