Can anyone provide me with the full name of the II Castilian Brigade commander during the Asturias offensive? I have seen him named as Colonel Faurie or Colonel Faorie. Also does anyone have any information on his later career?

AFAIK, Faurie. I am not entirely sure of the identity of this person, but if he was Colonel Luis Faurie Gómez, a reasonable assumption, then he probably died on March 4, 1940, the date on which on which his wife become entitled to a widow's pension. He was still a colonel on that date.

Given your profound knowledge of the Spanish Civil War, which you have shared with me and other members on numerous occasions, I strongly suspect you are right. It seems strange that there should be so little about him. Very many thanks for this and so much in the past.

About Colonel Luis Faurie Gómez I can add that on 21 April 1937 he was given command of the "Cazadores de España nº 5" cavalry regiment, having previously being in command of "Cazadores de Villarrobledo nº 1" cavalry regiment. In 1938-1939 he was military governor of Burgos, the capital city of Francoist Spain.
