Good afternoon all,

There is an article in today's 26 January New York Times International Section titled " Basque Soldier Who Evaded Death 80 Years Ago Lives On as the ' Last Gudari' by Raphael Minder. I'm looking at the pulp edition's page A9.

I did not hyperlink the article because although loaded with good info the article is also loaded with current events.

Thus, if this subject matter is of value, the above article should be web accessible.

Article mentions "the autonomous Basque army" and the monument having "a giant fingerprint".
