Spanish Republican TO&E

#1

Post by Eugen Pinak » 17 Jun 2004, 11:27

Hello all,

I’m trying to research organization of mixed brigades of the Republican Army, but there are several question I can’t find answers. Maybe somebody here can help.

My questions are:

1. Did infantry battalions ever had 3 companies, or allways 4?

2. What do you know about SMG, mortar and anti-tank gun allocation to brigades? Information about allocation of any other weapons to units and sub-units will be great too.

3. Do you know anything about proposal to reorganize brigades in 1939 (new TO&E was planned)?

Thank you in advance,
Eugen Pinak

Here is another hopefully useful link: http://personal.menta.net/stonewall/docs/gc/gc3.pdf .

That is a document entitled "La Guerra Civil en ASL". Unfortunately, not only is its title in Spanish, but whole of it. Nevertheless you may find it quite readable.

Best regards,
Piotr
