Italian units in Mallorca

Hi All

Need some info and photos in general about the Italian units in Mallorca during the Spanish civil war. I know that some air units were based on Son Bonet airfield near Palma...

anyone have photos or images about this?

Interesting factoid: I read somewhere or other that Franco originally promised Mussolini the Balearic Islands if he would aid the military rebellion. Needless to say, nothing ever came of that promise.

I have heard so. Apparently, Mussolinni dreamt about turning the Ballearic islands into some kind of Italian Gibraltar/Malta.
