The attached article provides a summary of the US Navy PT Boats operations in the Pacific theater.

The article was printed in the June 1946 edition of the USA professional military reference magazine ‘Military Review’.

The article is wrong on one thing. No Japanese destroyers or other warships were sunk or seriously damaged by PT boat operations off Guadalcanal.
Kennedy went on to command PT-59 after returning to Tulagi from the loss of PT 109 also. Unlike PT 109, PT 59 was used as a gunboat having 2 40mm guns and a number of machineguns mounted for inshore fire support.
