A Dutch KNIL major information, please

#1

Post by LMA-17 » 07 Sep 2017, 17:07

Dear good friends,

I'm looking an info of a major of Dutch KNIL named B.F.A. Schillmöller. He was a KNIL commander during Manado battle in 1942. I wish I could get his born and dead (if he already pass away) date.

Thanks in advance

Nur

There is some information.
Please see this, http://www.oocities.org/dutcheastindies/menado.html

Please see the following link,
https://books.google.nl/books?id=q1hQAA ... er&f=false

The link above contains a annual about the Cadetten School of the KMA KNIL of 1934, so it looks like he was indeed a instructor in Indonesia.

Best regards.
Bertill.

Ps. I removed the attachment because that was not the person you are looking for.

HelloLMA-17,
I just found a picture (dated 1946) of him. He was released from a japanese POW camp in 1945.

I found a Schilmöller (With one letter l) by the names of Fritz Bernhard Franciscus born at Den Haag on the 2nd of september 1894 and died at Hoogerheide on the 18th august 1960 but I am not sure it's him. This officer was the commander of Bandoeng area

Hi Bertill622 and Prosper Vandenbroucke,

thank you very much for your helping information.
I also didn't sure that Fritz Bernhard Franciscus Schilmöller is a same person with B.F.A. Schillmöller. I only know that "my man" was an instructur military in KMA, but, again, I'm not sure that he belong from KMA (Dutch Military Academy) Breda or KMA Bandoeng.

best regards

There are two Schilmöllers, Bernhard and Frits.
They are brothers.
The father had the German Nationality.
Bernhard was active at several islands.
Frits was commander at Bandoeng.
Frits was married to M.P. Heinsdijk but he died indeed in 1960 in Hoogerheide.
The Widow married after his passing with the greatfather of my wife.
I don't have any information about Bernhard but try to find out with my famililyhistory.

Ben Schilmöller died in 1975.
The exact date is unknown for me.

Best regards,
Pierre
