Range of Manchukuo coastguard ships 1941-45

From my research, it seems that during the Pacific War the Manchukuo coastguard ships primarily operated in the Bohai Sea and Yellow Sea. For example, I have found records of 海王 (Haiwang) visiting ports in Liaodong Peninsula and Korea. I would like to know if the coastguard ships operated any farther than this between 1941-45, for example visits to Japan or farther south in China? I have seen one claim on the internet that 海王 visited Hong Kong, but I can find no evidence of this.

Hi,
Suggest you post this question at
      Tullys Port at CombinedFleet.com
There are many experts on the IJN and other matters there who might be able to assist you.

Thank you for the suggestion. My question is not actually about the IJN, it's about 滿洲國海上警察隊 (Manchukuo Maritime Police Corps, aka coastguard/sea police). They were part of Manchukuo, not Japan.

Manchuko was a "puppet" of the Japanese empire. The IJN oversaw all aspects of the government, whether civilian (maritime police, etc), or military.

Anyway, your choice. But I suggest you try anyway. As I wrote, the knowledge resource is not limited only to the IJN.

Of course, even many of the personnel in Manchukuo coastguard were Japanese navy. As I said, thanks for your suggestion, I will check out the website. I just hope it is not too much of an esoteric topic. :)

They just love esoteric topics. Makes a change from the USN and the IJN!
