Attack Dogs in the Pacific War

Are there any instances of attack dogs of the US Army and US Marines that killed Japanese soldiers on the Pacific Islands during WWII?

Hi Edward,

What do you mean by "attack dogs"?

Do you mean conventional guard dogs, or dogs specially bred to kill humans?

Cheers,

Sid.

The USMC deployed multiple War Dog Platoons, which were generally split between messenger dogs and scout dogs. The latter were to accompany patrols and do guard duty, providing advance warning of the presence or approach of Japanese troops. I don't recall seeing anything to indicate they were specifically trained to attack them as well.
