Sloop Indus

#1

Post by Jordi Comas » 08 Jan 2022, 12:16

Hi all!

Indian sloop Indus was sunk by Japanese Nell bombers on 6 April 1942 while at anchor at Fakir Point, Akyab, Burma. Do you know what time? I can just add that it was during the morning but no more.

Thank you very much

The Operations of the Navy in the Dutch East Indies and the Bay of Bengal (p.640) states that Akyab was attacked on 6 April 1942 starting at 1155. The attack lasted for an hour. The Indus isn't named but the claim was that naval vessels in harbor were attacked and one 2,000t minelayer was sunk.

Pista!
