Looking for details about pic from Nagoya, 1945

Post by andy5995 » 13 Aug 2023 06:09

Can anyone tell me any details about this photo? I uploaded it to Wikimedia Commons today. My grandfather took it in 1945 while serving in the Navy (aboard the USS Typhon). It would be nice if I could add more information for this picture.

Just a guess:

A barracks building of a forced labor camp for Allied POW's in or around Nagoya?

You'd get some more eyes on it if you also posted this in this section viewforum.php?f=65 of this forum.

Thanks. Do you think I should make a duplicate post or ask a mod to move the thread?

I found and added more pictures with what appears to be the same building:
