MIA 1942 - Submarine A

#1

Hi all, just watched a program on Channel 2 about the Japanese Midget Submarine attack on Sydney Harbour during WW2. It said that 3 of the midget submarines were sunk...while the 4th disappeared and hasn't been found.

I quote -
Midget Submarine A from I-24 was never found and the crew were presumed dead as follows:-
Midget Submarine A from I-24
Lieutenant Katsuhisa BAN
Ensign Mamoru ASHIBE
I have a theory that they may have headed inland...and possibly gotten stuck in the hawksbury?....or they could of made it to open sea and from there on...nobody knows. Can anyone share anymore information on this submarine that disappeared?
Thanks

They most likely made their way into open sea, where any hope of finding them is impossible. Or they might had been blown to pieces.

Isn't theres 3 of them, instead of 4?

Soz my bad. There were 3 Midget Submarines....each weighing 46tons. I think that sometime in the future someone will find the missing submarine of Lt. Ban
