Submarine sinkings off Australia

I know that the hospital ship Centaur was sunk by a Japanese sub and I also recall a book 'Stoker's Submarine' (?) about a U-Boat's tour of South Australian waters. I'm wondering how many ships were sunk by subs off the Australian coast and by whom?

Peter Dunn has produced a mass of unusual information about aspects of World War 2 in relation to Australia.

He answers Larso's question at:

He also provides hotlink references to German attacks on shipping in Australian waters.
