Rudolf,

Why does it have to be so small?
Can't you post it bigger and a few more lines to compare the handwriting with other words?
The last word reads: Adjutant. I dont read a unit before that, it could be "Stellv." J 4....

Best regards Armin

It´s "Selbstmord", Andrew. That´s "suicide" in English.

Sorry to bother you guys with another. This one is very challenging for me due to the unfortunate water damage that this file has suffered and I can't manage it alone. This is what I can make out...

???
Teilnahme an der Wehrkreisprüfung

Stab 5. Division - mit dem 1.10.29 vereidigt.

12. RR [Reiterregiment] Stab - ????
Versetzt und ??? seiner Offz-

Thank you all so so much for any help.

Andrew,
After Stab 5. Div I read:
mit dem 1.10.29 versetzt, not vereidigt.

For 12. R.R. :
Versetzt und unt.(er) Beibeh.(altung) seiner bish.(erigen) Uniform zur Komdtr. Berlin kdt. (kommandiert).
(Vers. Komdo) Dienst ...... T.A.

Best regards
Armin

It's nice to see others getting help in their research. Here's one that's been puzzling me. "Rast in Weiler (vor Lingen). Neue Zeitungen. ***, Zimmermann, Winther, ***itz ** ***" I'm not entirely sure about the place-names (Bingen?), as I can't get the geography to fit, and besides, the license plate indicates a vehicle registered in Dresden (if I'm not mistaken). Can anyone unravel the mystery?
