Meaning of "Ellengrund"

I am curious about the meaning of the word "Ellengrund" in this death card:

I know that "Ellen" means elbow, yard or cubit and "Grund" means ground, but I can find nothing in any dictionaries or even online showing the meaning when they are combined together. I even attempted to use Google translate but it "recognized" it as Luxembourgish but, nonetheless, did not provide an English translation. Any elucidation would be greatly appreciated.

Eller is a term for the tree 'Erle', alder in english. Sounds like a small wood 200m sw of Berigny.

Hi Sam,

This is actually the same like in your post dated 15. Feb21 regarding the "Bachgrund".

If you take a look at the map of Berigny you will notice a small brook named "L'Elle".
So IMO they "germanized" it to Ellengrund.

Taking into account he is mentioned in a publication and the location of the “Fallsch.Jäg.Regt. 5“ it must be the “L‘Elle” area mentioned by Armin (southwest of Berigny not far east of Saint Lo).
