Thanks. It must be "Schall". There was such a Gen.Staff.officer in the 1918 "Ehrenliste". It was most likely the later Oberst Karl Schall.

Find a name on your list similiar to this?

Thanks. but no hit. Nothing with Meih... and nothing with Weih... The book has 1280 pages full of names. Reserve officers are mostly missing, but I assume our guys are active officers and should be in the book.
The signatures are from the 6th General Staff training course at Sedan in Feb. 1918. Here are the participants, I was able to find out:
Hauptmann Heinz Guderian (später Generaloberst)
Hauptmann Maximilian Renz (später Generalleutnant))
Hauptmann Gotthard Heinrici (später Generaloberst)
Hauptmann Friedrich Bergmann (später Generalleutnant)
Hauptmann Kurt Erdmann (später Generalmajor)
Hauptmann Bruno Bieler (später General der Infanterie)
Hauptmann Karl Schall (später Oberst i.G.)
All in all there were probably 20 participants.

#5:
Could it be: v. Leyser?
Maybe Ernst von Leyser? https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernst_von_Leyser

Thanks. I think you are right. There was a OLt. Meißner (Fußartilllerie-Rgt.5) in the General Staff of 10. Ersatz-Division. He obviously served a short time in the Reichswehr and then left the army with the rank of Major. In the Adressbuch Posen (1913), there is a Leutnant Walter Meißner. That must be him. He obviously rejoined the army later. Here, a Oberst i.G. Walter Meißner ist listed:

Re: unreadable names 3
Thanks. I downloaded the file of von Leyser, but there is no evidence that he conducted general staff training during WWI. The first letter looks actually like a R or K. but there is no von Reyser and no von Keyser.Hohlladung wrote: ↑02 Apr 2023 13:21#5:

Another guess for No.5 - v. Reger

Thanks but there is only one "Reger" and no "von Reger" in the Rangliste. I already looked through the whole "Re" section, but no hit.
