TsAMO Documents - Cyrillic handwriting - help needed

#1

Post by G. Trifkovic » 27 May 2015, 01:06

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with getting this handwriting into "normal" letters? A line or two, it doesn't matter, any help is greatly appreciated. It needs not be translated - I'll (hopefully) manage somehow. :)

Thanks in advance,

Gaius.

P.S. The document at hand is an after-action report of a battalion of the 73rd Guards Division on the Battle of Belgrade. It can be found at pamyat-naroda.ru

The rest of the text:

Hi guys,

I again need help with deciphering some handwritten Soviet documents, this time of the 68th Rifle Corps; as before, no translation is needed. All documents are from TsAMO/961/1/290.

As far as I could gather from the document titles provided by https://vnr.github.io/pamyat-naroda-search/, the first complains about irregular deliveries of artillery ammunition, the other forbids the subordinated divisions from maintaining contacts with the Chetniks, and the third deals with disciplinary matters.

Any help is greatly appreciated,

G.

Ok, the first document:
To the chief of staff, 3 Ukrainian Front

The corps hasen't received any ammunition in 22 days, while engaged every day in defensive combat to repulse enemy counterattacks. Availability of certain types of ammunition has decreased strongly. Availability of the following calibers is especially bad:
in 93 Rifle Division - 122-mm howitzer - 0.4 unit of fire, 76-mm regimental cannons mod.43 - 0.5 unit;
in 223 Rifle Division - 82-mm mortars - 0.5 unit, 76-mm regimental cannons mod.43 - 0.3 unit, 76-mm divisional cannons - 0.6 unit, 122-mm - 0,2 units, rifle cartridges - 0.4 unit.
It was expected that after repair of the Stalach bridge by 25-25 November an ammunition replenishment would be delivered to me, so I didn't raise this question. At the present time I received information that the bridge will be ready not sooner than after 7-10 days. I request your order to move a light dump to Stalach station or Dzhuniye, from where I will take ammunition using my own transport.
Please, cable me your decision.
25.11.44
Commander of 68 Rifle Corps major general Shkodunovich
The other two are harder to decipher, the last handscript is a stuff nightmares are made from. I need more time with them.

The second:
Encoded telegram No.225
To the commanders of 52, 93, 223 Rifle Divisions

Any relations with Chetniks must be completely prohibited, they must be fought instead as collaborators of German aggressors. Where situation permits detachments of Chetniks and other groups hostile to the National Liberation Army of the Yugoslavia are to be disarmed and personnel and weapons given to the staffs of NLA divisions by official acts with signatures and stamps.

Any fraternization with Chetniks must be categorically prohibited.

Signatures: Shkodinovich
........
The third - I simply give up, one cannot understand most of the words. The general idea: there were cases of undisciplined behavior of military personnel where perpetrators had unauthorized weapons (pistols) with them and resisted to patrols. It is ordered to officers to check all personnel and confiscate extra pistols.

Hi all,

me again. If I understand correctly, the war diary of the 49th GRD for 6 October 1944 (image 1) claims that parts of its 147th Rifle Regiment had crossed the Danube before the division was ordered to concentrate at Vojlovica and Starčevo by the morning of the 7th instead. Reports of the division for the 6th and the 7th are seemingly not available (apart from the one at 2000h by which time the division had finished the concentration), and the diary of the 10th Guard Rifle Corps contains no mention of the crossing, but there are three hand-written reports of the 147th RR (all TsAMO/1158/1/73) which could prove useful for solving the mystery. I don't need the whole reports transliterated, but If you spot anything on the crossing, please let me know.

Many thanks in advance,

G.

There is nothing about the crossing, only attack on Panchevo.
