Russian translation of Soviet Rear technical terms

Post by Der Alte Fritz » 08 Aug 2016 22:04

Am researching the Rear of the Red Army and keep coming across wither technical terms or acroyms that I cannot translate, so any help would be gratefully received:

Упродснабах Uprodsnabakh = military farm ?????

Организовать вместо существующих отделений подсобных хозяйств в упродснабах, по утвержденным штатам, сельскохозяйственные отделы с задачей:
Arrange to replace the existing auxiliary farms (villages?) with uprodsnabah, approved by the state agricultural departments with the task:

Упродснаб = Управление Продовольственного снабжения = subsistence office or provisions supply office
If we become increasingly humble about how little we know, we may be more eager to search.

A native speaker should have a last word, I think it's something like:

Replace existing offices/units of household farms under management of subsistence offices by agricultural units/divisions, according to approved norms/guides/standards. Tasks of new units/divisions will be:
If we become increasingly humble about how little we know, we may be more eager to search.

Something like this I think-
Set up instead of the existing offices of auxiliary farms, under subjection of food supply departments(в упроснабах),according to approved schedule of vacancies, agricultural offices with the task:

How about:
обозно-вещевого снабжения
and
обозно-хозяйственного

from:

Check the spelling, it's probably вещимущества = вещевого имущества

Вещевое имущество = equipment, other than principal items, eg. uniforms, tents and sleeping stuff, etc.

Some of these words and abbreviations are not in use now,e.g. "обоз"-this word is more suitable for napoleonic wars epoch.
