Looks like British Vickers Mk VI tank.
Perhaps in Greece. Crete? Any villages there with similar name?

Initially I thought it was in North Africa, but that row of trees on the horizon put me off.
Overheard in the office:
Instead of losing 10% a year to inflation, you can invest in the stock market and lose 80% a year to stupidity.

Thanks Greg, yes definitely a Mk VIb. And definitely France 1940, based on the tank markings. Was hoping the first few words could be deciphered and provide the village or town location....
