German Chess Medal Translation

#1

Post by Clueless Idiot » 21 Sep 2017, 09:48

Hello!

I am new to your forum & I don't speak German.

I have acquired two German medals - all I could find out so far is that they have something to do with chess.

It would be great if someone could translate what the medals say - that would make identification a lot much easier.

Thanks in advance! :milwink:

....thal (Schach) looks like the name of a place on the river "Schach" (don't know if that exists)
2nd line is "Meyersohn", a German Jewish name, probably coming from "Pakeo", which is a place in Romania.
3rd line Erg. Berl. W.S 94 95 means: "Erg" ńormally means "Ergebnis": Result. "Berl" is Berlin, W.S 94 95 means "Wintersemester 94 95": Fall semester 94 95
