Hi

Any assistance in translating this would be appreciated. I think the wood was added later.

A Builder's plate, I suspect but from what and from where? I have been told gun and have been told ship. :?

regards
A :)

Путиловскiй заводъ - Putilov Plant
С.Петербургъ - Saint Petersburg
система Шнейдера - Schneider's system

Not sure about authenticity (eg. don't know what Nr.47 is), if genuine, perhaps it's from an larger caliber artillery piece like 152mm howitzer introduced in 1909/10.

Hi Greg

Thank you for that. :D

The Russian alphabet translators that I found were not entirely helpful.

The Putilov story is a good one too. Now to find the gun.

regards
A :)
