Translation needed on Peiper newspaper clipping
Hello- I am not sure if I am in the right sector. But I will post in the two categories that seem appropriate. My German is in no way fluent and I am seeking a translation of a newspaper clipping about Joachim Peiper. I appreciate any and all kindness in this regard.
Re: Translation needed on Peiper newspaper clipping
With newspaper clippings it's quite easy, because you don't need to invest in OCR software (there are some free ones as well).
Usually online newspapers services have an option to save article in plain text format.
Than you just do cut/paste into any translator (Google, Altavista, etc.)
Even for a native German speaker on this Forum it would be easier to work on plain text rather that have to retype everything as it takes time.

I don't know how to do that or what sites you use. I am not tech savvy, I teach history lol. I'm just hoping for a translation. If you can direct me to a site that does what you're talking about, I thank you.GregSingh wrote:With newspaper clippings it's quite easy, because you don't need to invest in OCR software (there are some free ones as well).

Try Abbyy FineReader
or
FINE READER SPRINT
one example: a little older one but...
free download - full version in multi language - vers. 9.0
http://ulrichhanke.de/09/ABBYYFineReader9.0Sprint.html
or google a little for other/ newer versions ( also trails are working longer as written )
I've also one old version on the pc among others . it's working fine.
so you can read text of your pics and convert to word, exel and other , is also reading handwriting stuff.
Then copy and paste into a online translator.. that's all
The best and cheapest way
Okay sometimes you've to do little corrections, comparing to the original
Good Luck
