Feldpost Help - Letters x 2

Hi,

I have two feldpost letters which i've had in my collection for many years despite not yet having them translated. Someone on here helped with a letter before so I hope someone can help decipher some of the text. Hopefully the result is something of interest to others on here. Please help!

You need to downsize your files in the future. With 2300 pixel the long side you´re far about the limit. The half is enough (normaly).

Thanks! I think it was actually you who helped with another feldpost letter translation before! Hoping you can work your magic on these ones too. All three letters are to the same Anni Harzengruber so a nice little lot.

You´re welcome. Note that the correct last name is "Starzengruber".

I was wondering by any chance if you were able to make head or tail or the letters to see if they can be translated?

I continue with the envelope back side:

Abs: Jg. Starzengruber F.P.N. 41364A

The fieldpost number belongs to Stab II. Bataillon/Jäger Regiment 25, which was subordinated to 42. Jäger Division.
At that time the Regiment was stationed in Croatia.

The rank is Jäger (Jg.).

Can you confirm that it is an "A" after 41364? Can't really recognize it for sure.

Jetzt werdet ihr sicher schon draußen arbeiten auf dem Feld. Hier im Lazarett ist es auch zum Aushalten ist auch ganz schön. War vor einigen Tagen Röntgen am linken Unterschenkel. Habe durch den Steckschuß einen Wadenbeinbruch. Das Geschoß wird aber nicht rausgenommen. Vielleicht später einmal wenn es zu wandern anfängt.

Thanks so much Armin. There is certainly an art in reading german script writing it seems! At least the letter paints a small picture of recuperation from battle. I am curious what the other letter includes so would massively appreciate if you get around to looking at it too in your own time. I believe it dates from before letter 1 so might hold a little more information.

I have also attached a very close up photo of the number for your inspection. Hopefully this is easier to read now!

Here is the back of letter 1 as far as I can read it:

Liebe Schwester haben sich die Bauersleute schon wieder etwas beruhigt. Das glaube ich daß es auch für die schwer ist, wo es soviel mitgemacht hat und dann vermißt wird.
Nun liebe Anni will ich schließen mit vielen Grüßen Dein Bruder Gerd.
Recht viele Grüße an Mutter und Geschwister und an die Schmiedeleute.

In his first letter he is writing to his sister Anni about his fibula fracture caused by a bullit still lodged in his lower leg and that he is now being transferred to a hospital at home.

Hi, I agree that it looks like a D to me too. This is all fascinating being able to trace letters back to particular regiments. I have lots more. Some POW ones too which may contain more interesting information. Thank you very much for your help!
