Deciphering signature of an SS-Gruf.

Post by Michael Miller » 01 Aug 2020 03:51

This is the "strenger Verweis" issued by the RFSS toward Matthias Kleinheisterkamp on 21.06.1938. Can anyone decipher the signature of the SS-Gruppenführer who signed on Himmler's behalf?

Best wishes and thanks,
~ Mike

Hi Michael,
IMO this is not a full signature, looks more like a shorthand symbol starting with a W.
I was thinking of Karl Wolff. His full signature looks different, I have seen it, but if it is a shorthand symbol, it could be him.
Another person was Udo von Woyrsch, who was assigned to "Persönlicher Stab Reichsführer SS" at that time.
Not much of help, but other opinions welcome.
Best regards
Armin

Hello, Armin.

VERY belated thanks. I think you're right and it's probably Karl Wolff. A lazy scrawl but close in some ways to his usual signature.

Best wishes,
~Mike
